Dakota and I met during our churches elementary school summer camp in August 2022. My first memory with Dakota is the two of us jumping in to a lake after an expected shaving cream war broke out between the boys and girls. This is when I realized that he was pretty alright. Later that year Dakota moved to NC for work but we were able to remain friends over the two years that he was down there. During that time I would come to realize how much our friendship meant to me because he was always patient yet honest and always new how to make me laugh.Dakota made many efforts to make a move on me but I always managed to shut it down because I never took his feelings (or mine) seriously.Fast forward to summer of 2024 when I finally realized that I liked him more that I thought and agreed to go a date on with him. From that point on there was not a doubt in my mind that he was my person and were gonna get married.
